Audience feedback about your writing is critical to your improving as a writer. Ask another student in the class to answers these questions for you about your argument essay. Remember that their answers help in your revision process. Write your name and the students name on a separate sheet of paper.
1) What were your first impressions of this essay? Write one paragraph describing your likes and dislikes.
2) Does the essay stay focused on the thesis statement throughout the essay? Point out areas that do not seem well-focused. Praise other areas that seem focused.
3) Do you think there is enough supporting evidence for the claims being made? Point out areas where more support is needed in terms of examples, statistics, explanation, etc.
4) Does the writer include counterarguments and a response to the counterarguments? Suggest improvements.
5) Does the writer commit any fallacies in their reasoning? Place an "X" along the margin and discuss the potential fallacy with the writer.
6) Are the title and introduction interesting and make you want to read more? Why or why not? Suggest improvements.
7) Are paragraphs too long or too short? Are paragraph breaks needed if paragraphs are too long? Do some paragraphs need to be combined or developed? Suggest improvements.

9) Is MLA style applied correctly in internal citations and the bibliography? Suggest improvements.
10) If this essay were yours, what ONE major change would you make to it to improve it? Why? Discuss.
