Web Systems Degree
ICC offers a 2-year degree (Associates of Applied Science) in Web Systems. This curriculum maps closely with the WOW curriculum (and was developed at the same time). ICC was the second community college in the United States to offer a degree in Web Technology; the first to offer one with the name of Web Systems. Students completing this curriculum should be prepared to take the WOW Associate Certification Exams - Web Designer, Web Developer, and Web Administrator (if they desire). These exams can be taken via ICC as well. The program is vendor neutral. Some classes are offered in an Internet-only format so that students do not need to physically attend ICC to obtain this knowledge. Students will be expected to install a significant amount of software on their own computers (if they choose the Internet-only options). Students will also have access to the ICC virtual lab for those software components which are unavailable as free developer editions.
Students can see at a glance the sequence of courses. Students who wish to pursue this specific curriculum are encouraged to contact Mark DuBois (mdubois@icc.edu, 309.694.8432) for more details and to begin the process of registering for appropriate classes.
