Illinois Central College - Web Curriculum

Rich Internet Application Developer Certificate

ICC offers a certificate in rich Internet applications. The focus of this certificate is on development of interfaces to databases and XML which rely on Macromedia's Flash software for the client interface. Students will be exposed to a number of technologies in this curriculum (such as Macromedia Flash Communication server, Microsoft ASP.Net, and Macromedia Central). ICC is the first community college in the United States to offer this certificate. Many classes are offered in an Internet-only format so that students do not need to physically attend ICC to obtain this knowledge. Students will be expected to install a significant amount of software on their own computers (if they choose the Internet-only options). Students will also have access to the ICC virtual lab for those software components which are unavailable as free developer editions.
