This list contains suggestions of materials to use in welding projects, as well as places in the Peoria area where you might find the materials.
Welding Material
#9 Wire - used to hang suspended ceilings. Comes in 12 foot lengths. They carry two types of this wire and I use the heaviest.
Penetrol A versatile blend of natural oils with
a penetration power 3 times more than water and a powerful bonding ability. High in solids, non-toxic when dry, colourless and with low odour it is user friendly. primer/sealer - makes painting easier and stops rust and corrosion.
Materials other than metal
Metal does not have to be the main focus of your project. If you look at the coffee table below, you'll see that the main focus of the piece is the old travel trunk. The metal work is simple and designed not to be noticed. Don't limit your work to only steel or copper.
