The September meeting of the American Welding Society was held at the CNH manufacturing plant in Goodfield, IL.  Besides our regular members we also had students from the Illinois School of Welding, East Peoria High School and Illinois Central College.  A total of 40 people attended the meeting.

CNH started making farm equipment in 1961 and was known as DMI at that time.  Over the years it merged and had several name changes becoming CNH in 2000.

CNH employees 160 people and runs three shifts.  Our tour guides for the evening were Bob Anderson and Mark Kerley.  We saw their welding and fabrication departments along with the paint and assembly areas.  After the meeting there was a social hour with pizza and soda.
