The Peoria Chapter of AWS toured the Caterpillar Inc.
Factory in Mapleton. A total of 50 members attended
the meeting. Besides our regular members we have student
members from Spoon River Community College in Canton,
Illinois Welding School in Bartonville, East Peoria
High School in East Peoria and Illinois Central College.
The tour of the modern facility was very interesting.
You can take tours and see an assembly line at many
different places but you do not get many opportunities
to tour a foundry.
