Brad Walden and Uwe Aschemeier of the H.C. Nutting Company (geotechnical, environmental and testing engineers since 1921) drove to Peoria from Cincinnati to present a very informative power point presentation on the subject of underwater welding. If you were expecting to see something similar to "The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau" you would have been disappointed because Supervisor of Diving Services, Brad Walden , has worked in the exotic waters of the Ohio River and the Cincinnati Sanitary District. The presentation gave the members a very realistic look at underwater and the type of career it can be. After the presentation Brad and Uwe answered questions from the members. This was one of our better attended meetings and
we had a good number of students in the audience as well.

Peoria Section Chair Mark Kerley presented Marc Churhill of the Illinois
Welding School with his Section Educator Award.

Also discussed at the meeting was the March 27 welding contest to be held at Illinois Central College, the May 2 hog roast meeting and the nomination of officers for next year.
